why most internet article writers make pun is such a big deal?

I don’t have problem if there’s a sentence with pun , often it’s funny and yet writers mostly says ‘ no pun intended ‘ or some say
‘pun intended’. Hey I don’t care, I mean you don’t have to explain it to me.
Or is there any particular culture that I missed in english-speaking country regarding pun ?
